Ridelondon and Velothon Wales for the closed roads, other sportives to ride a nicely planned route in an area I'm unfamiliar with.
Doing Le Tricolore on Sunday, a nice 77 miles in northern France which I didn't have to plan, and which I'll be able to ride with a few hundred like minded souls. Okay a bit expensive, but with ferry costs included I think there's decent value, in my opinion. YMMV.
