As noted, the poll options aren't nuanced enough to give a true picture of distance over time.
I just finished preparing my 2008 CKAP logs, last night, so I am reminded how varied my weekly/monthly distances are -- from my longest week of just under 700 kilometres (435 mi), to my shortest of just 6 kilometres. My best month was 1,455 kilometres (904 mi), but I averaged around 700 kilometres per month.
My longest days (on 400 and 600 km ACP-registered brevets) were 400 kilometres (248 mi) and I did a couple of day tours a bit over half that distance.
Of course all these stats (love stats!) are affected by health and other life obligations (doncha hate the way that stuff gets in the way of bike time?) but my average training ride -- apart from events -- will vary between 30 and 150 kilometres. Most Wednesdays, I ride with a group and my home to home loop is 105 kilometres (65 mi) That ride is a constant. During the core season -- March - October -- the rest of my rides are usually around 50-75 km. However, like this year, I often find myself racking up some decent miles in November/December.
This added up to 8,520 km (5,294 mi), this year.
These kinds of distances are pissing contests to some, a ride around the block for others.
For instance, one of my (retired!) club mates (has 9 years on me, at 65) racks up an average 40,000 kilometres (25,000 mi) a year, rides 100 miles most rest days. Eats up 1200 km brevets in 50 hours and is capable of 24 hour 600s.
And, yes, has fun doing it.
