This can manifest itself as sudden dizzynes. Try to grab your water bottle, and have a drink, the instant you stop, in these circumstances. Also a sudden dip in blood sugar levels / blood pressure, caused by the exertion can cause dizzyness.

Sounds like he's riding maybe 100-150 miles a week, hardly excessive if he's been eating loads too. It's not exactly been super hot the last two weeks
