What Bike to buy

HELP! Ive been riding my Custom Dave Lloyd since I was 18 (now 32) It,s still in a1 condition and a great bike but I really fancy a full carbon bike and have been window shopping treks for ages, Now is the time and I,m really unsure what to go for, I have a budget of £1500 max,

I have seen a few bikes on ebay etc but I,m warey of these sites, Is there anything to be looking out for etc when buying a carbon bike?

You a correct in being wary of buying a carbon bike on Ebay especially if it is second hand. For one reason it will not have a warranty. Specialized for instance have a lifetime warranty with their frames however this is restricted to the original purchaser only. If you are to buy a Carbon framed bike then I do suggest that you buy brand new from a reputable dealer.

For £1500 you can get some very good carbon bikes. And there are some good deals to be had for the 2010 models. For example the Spech Roubaix Elite 2010 seems to be selling at various outlets for £1400 (Evans for example) and the Trek Madone 4.5 2010 for £1400 from All Terrain Cycles.

Don't suppose your workplace does Evans ride2work scheme? Unlike some of the others you can put the voucher towards a more expensive bike and just pay the difference . . .

I have seen the ride to work scheme but its only our local council that are doing it,

One of my mates bought a Trek from ebay in the summer, it was around £300 less than RRP, when he took it into our local shop they told him they thought it was a copy and not a real trek, Since then we have sat the bike next to one in there shop and I cant tell the difference but they seemed to no this is what has put me off
