My current topm5...

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick
Led Zeppelin - III, the last of their bluesy albums.
Motorhead - Overkill. Some of Lemmy's finest work.
Kill Devil Hills - The Drought.
The Beatles - Rubber Soul.

Jeff Wayne - War of the Worlds - faultless
Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous - the definitive live album
They Might be Giants - Flood - funny, clever, musical, political

Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction
The Smiths - The Queen is Dead
Iron Maiden - The Number of the Beast
Then Jerico - Big Area
AC DC - Back in Black

Brian Johnson gets some grief from diehard Bon Scott fans, but Back in Black is one of their finest.

The Jam - This Is The Modern World
The Jam - All Mod Cons
The Jam - Settings Sons
The Jam - Sound Affects
The Jam - The Gift

To be honest it was a toss-up between In The City and The Gift. Their first and last albums were their weakest.

Back in Black is one of the finest comebacks of all time. It must have been a hard trick to pull. Can you imagine waiting for the reaction from the diehard fans.

It's hard; I think your tastes change as time goes on. Here's my top five at the moment:

The Beatles -Sgt Peppers (could be other albums depending on my mood)
The Jam -All Mod Cons or Setting Sons, but I'll say All Mod Cons
Ultravox -Rage in Eden
Radiohead -The Bends or OK Computer, but I'll say OK Computer
Led Zeppelin -I (I just love the more blues influenced side of Led Zep)

The Smiths "Hatful of Hollow" could easily squeeze in there another day. Or BB King's "Live from San Quentin". Or Mozart's Requiem is fantastic too. Or some Queen. I must say I've been very much enjoying Muse's "Absolution" recently though.....

01 - Are You Experienced - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
02 - The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground
03 - Axis:Bold As Love - The Jimi Hendrix Experience
04 - Made In Japan - Deep Purple
05 - Piper At The Gates Of Dawn - The Pink Floyd

English Electric - OMD

Jumpin' Jive - Joe Jackson (Mrs R and I can sing every track on this)

On Every Street - Dire Straits (oh, that shelf-rattling bass on Calling Elvis)

-------------

Honourable mentions

Fundamental - Pet Shop Boys

The Race For Space - Public Service Broadcasting

The Winter of 89 - Tom Robinson Band (totally on fire live album)
