Picking mum up tomorrow and bringing her here. A meal with her and 2 of my 4 kids and then sit around chatting and wait for the bells.

Fizz is in the fridge
maybe add another one

looks like decent ( i.e. not raining) weather so maybe bike ride in the morning)
after that pick up hot pot pie must be picked up from deli for dinner

then TV until close to 11:30
then Jules Holland (if he is still on) until 12

then drink fizz- if not too drunk already

then bed

N.B fizz is fizzy wine - not some tart from Corrie - just to be clear

I'll probably stay in as I can't hack busy pubs these days, unless I'm sat down at a previously booked table and someone is bringing my drinks to the table and escorting me safely to the gents and back, which isn't going to happen. However, I might go to a nice, small dog friendly bistro I know in the afternoon for a coffee or a half of beer and a nibble, just to say I didn't totally avoid the event.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Only what I do almost every other night... sitting in by myself, with my laptop on my lap, and checking every few minutes to see if anything has changed on the internet. That is a full time job in itself because most times that I look, I find that something HAS changed somewhere...

Apart from that, writing the puzzle-game-that-refuses-to-be-finished***, playing other people's puzzle games, solving cryptic crosswords, or reading. Eventually (around 02:00) I'll put the TV on and watch that for 1-2 hours, then another 30 minutes to an hour of crosswords, computer puzzles, and reading in bed.

And that will be another year finished. After a few hours sleep, on with the next one!

*** I keep messing about with the design of it rather than getting version 1 finished and improving it later.

Not much over the last few years, less this year as we have a 2 and a 6 year old staying with us while their mums in hospital.
We used to do London most years, just drive to Harlow, catch the tube in and walk to the Embankment for the fireworks etc. Mental, just mental, hundreds of thousands of people, so much dope you could almost get high just inhaling the wreched stuff, but always a good atmosphere. Dropped out son at the same time off a couple times, he'd make his way to Trafalgar Square and do his thing and we'd all meet up at maybe 1am somewhere or other, all a bit makeshift and get the tube back, drive home, arrive maybe 4am.
We stopped when they started, maybe rightly, limiting the numbers there and making it a more organised event.
We will just see it in, do the usual Hootenany on tv, even though I can't stand Jules whatsisnames shouty style, raise a glass....and go to bed.
