Can your shoes take 2 bolt cleats lihe SPD's? If so, it is often a good idea to start with a double sided pedal.

if your shoes look like this they will take either system. If not you will be limited to road style cleats - Look Keo, or Exustar Keo, or Shimano SPD/SL. The pedals you link to use Keo style cleats. I haven't used them, but the price is good, cleats included. I use Look Keos, but would be very tempted to try a pair of these if I needed new pedals.

One thing to take into account is how easily can you get the cleats. Exustar pedals and cleats are not popular. Finding them in a shop is near impossible.
Perhaps spending a little more and getting Look Keo's or Shimano SPD-SL will make life in the long run a bit easier.

Aren't the Look Keo and Exustar Keo-style cleats interchangeable? The Exustar ones are certainly a lot cheaper. I can't afford to buy Look cleats in an LBS at rrp - £19.99 (!). I always look for the cheapest deal online.

Was obviously typing as you were posting! No problem using those SPD pedals on a road bike - lots do. (Depending on the shoes) it is usually easier to walk with SPD cleats as they are often recessed into the sole somewhat.

I have those on my road bike (see sig), I do find them a little small personally but I am pretty new to clipless. I had the double sided pedals on the bike that got nicked - found them a pain when using either cycling shoes or trainers - they were ALWAYS round the wrong way, right PITA!
