I'm curious, what are the alternatives to a bikamper?

My brother is asking me and he is looking for something suitable to use with a slightly heavier bike that comes with an engine... A tarp has been suggested. It is not him or his style.

Oh good call!
I'd recommend a Vango Banshee 200 as a good little tent for 1 person and a bit of kit storage inside.

Serious answer ... Then a tarp and a bivvi bag. Why the obsession to use the bike as a support?
I have suggested a tarp. He nay'ed it. He wanted something designed for the task rather than an ahdoc tying on to parts of his bike. I had even suggested he could borrow my tarp and bivvy bag (heaven's forbid) but again he said no. He reckoned that there would be something out there designed for the task that didn't need poles which I believe are the cause of a problem for him at present with luggage on his bike, something to do with the length of them I believe.

modern tent poles are foldable and as a result very short indeed. I'd measure the Banshee ones but I'm in Germany right now and the tent is not!

I know, thank you for the offer. I have several modern tents and have cycled with all of them, however this is my brother I am talking about and the idea of using any of my kit is out of the (his) question and he has a bee in his bonnet about something and I haven't a clue right now what he thinks he is trying to achieve other than no poles.
