Glad you're ok. Sorry to hear about the bibs and the mech though! Lived in Brackley for four or five years but haven't been back in a while...at least you have a bakery on the main street for a cake stop on the way home!!!
p.s. never stop at the village shop in Turweston if in need of supplies...the tins were pre-war and the old lady looked surprised to see a customer the last time I cycled through (but I guess it could be a Tesco Metro now!!!!).
Sorry to say the bakery closed Russ. Not sure about the shop in Turweston, but the pub looks a good excuse for a ride out!

That's a bit of bad luck, Dave, but at least your all right. It happened to me the first time I went out on a mountain bike, about ten years ago, brand spanking new Cannondale Jekyll 2000. Tried to get up a tough hill, snapped the chain, broke the rear hanger tore a hole in my Race Face trouser, falling off and rolling down the hill backwards in a most indecorous manner. Meanwhile my mate was rolling on the floor laughing he head off. I was most vexed.

I live very near Brackley, often ride through or near there, may be I'll see on the road.
Keep an eye open for an old fart on a blue n grey Moda Bolero with the right knee out of his bib tights, that'll be me! Do you ride out with the Brackley club on Sunday mornings?

I'll keep an eye out for you. No I don't ride with a club, I'm usually out with my wife or on my own, don't get a lot opportunities to ride at weekends, most of my rides are during the weekdays.

My riding schedule is the other way round Carl. I can get out over the weekend, but as it's dark in the evening and I don't have a decent front light yet, week day rides are out of the equation for now. The good news is that my lovely wife (who rides out with me quite often now) has sewn up the hole in my leggings and the tar marks have been removed from my jacket with a drop of WD40. Just waiting for the road rash to heal. Roll on the weekend, I can feel a 20 mile attempt coming on!

You'll have to let us know Nigel. I was looking at the Lezyne Super drive as I have the front and rear Femto drive lights which are really well made. These are on as attention grabbers, not to see by.
