Bloody clipless moment....happens to us all.......:hungry:

I'd stopped on Birtles Hill in Cheshire to fiddle with my shoe, legs a bit stiff and got back on bike, clipped in right foot, and the bike didn't want to move, so continued to topple over onto my right side.......managed to unclip right foot as I clattered to the deck...... splattered on my back in the middle of the road....

I do apologise to the folk sat in their very large garden for my swearing....

No damage - couple of chips on the pedal, and road rash on my elbow.....

See it can happen to us all, beginner or experienced....

Not even Salmons will fit on either of my road bikes - no clearance with 23mm tyres ! Must be the brand new headset making my steering all wobbly

LOL, I did one in front of all my skater mates whilst doing video review of their skating. Good thing skating has lots of falls, as I managed to roll my body sideways into it nicely and didn't even get a graze.

Then nearly did one when a car stopped unexpectedly, this time on the bent. Lucky I managed to get the other arm down so only just avoided an actual fall. Another commuter, a fast one, had a chuckle though.

Never had one.... yet!

Gonna happen mate....

My fault - tired legs, clipped in and just toppled over... Looks are harder to get out of in a panic than SPD's, and carbon road shoes just skate on tarmac.... It doesn't help that I have the pedal tension dialed up on the road bikes......

Magnatom & I witnessed an older bloke do one on PfS where the route came off the road and onto a path near Cramond Brig. He slowed to a stop at the kerb and then quietly and without even reacting, toppled over onto the grass verge and lay there for a few seconds. I thought he'd conked out and was starting to worry, but just then he slowly got up, looking a little sheepish. "I forgot I was clipless today !", he smiled.

First clipless moment I've witnessed !

When I toppled over - I held the traffic up!

:wahhey::blush::bicycle::blush:

Its even worse when some of the people are running over to 'help you'.

God I felt a jerk.

I totally wanted the ground to open up!

Only had the one "moment"....back in about '91, the first day I tried out my first pair of Look pedals. I'd practised unclipping whilst leaning against a wall until I was proficient to think I'd have no issues out on the road.

Out on a training run with a group of mates, came to a junction and started to panic as I couldn't unclip. Fell over onto my mate, who just pushed me in the opposite direction to save himself. I was still clipped to my bike on the ground with a coach honking it's horn at me, whilst my "mates" rode off laughing...

I saw a guy do that on the hill out of Queensferry last year. It looked like he was totally beat and didn't have the strength to do anything else! Hat's off though, he managed to not crash down hard, he kind of rolled onto the ground. I still can't figure out quite how he did that.

Power Grips are not as bad but I've still had a few moments. I twisted my ankle when I hit a dog a few months ago, foot stayed attached for too long.
