We live in Britain, (could be worse - I live in north wales:hyper:) get over it, and get out - if you wait for perfect weather you'll not do much riding. And as someone has already said, it makes the good days even better ^_^

Did 15 miles this evening with my two lads; wind had dropped a little but still took a bit of a battering.

Didn't fall off however, despite my youngest lad weaving about in front of me with both hands above his head! :stop:

Worse tomorrow I'm told!

Meant to drop near freezing :0

If you never go out in bad weather you'll never appreciate it when the sun shines and it's warm.
This is a fallacy proposed by people who didn't check the weather forecast before going out. I hardly ever ride in the rain, but thoroughly enjoy my dry rides, even in midwinter. Being retired has the advantage that If I can't ride today, I can always ride tomorrow.

Did 103km (on a laden touring bike) yesterday and caught both the sun and the wind - was heading home which was NW from where we were camping overnight. Virtually all of that route was into the headwind, but with the careful use of hedges along single track country lanes, we were mostly sheltered. Only 2 bad squalls that had us sheltering under trees and because of the high winds, they blew through very quickly. One or two branches down along the way much closer to home, and got blown across to the other side of a 2 lane (empty & rural) road at one point, but otherwise an enjoyable weekend out on the bikes.

Today is bright, sunny and calm here. What's the fuss about? ;)

Approaching perfection from a distance.
Blowing a gale here; so much so, I'm considering borrowing my 13 year olds iPhone, starting his Strava, and peeing everyone off by getting a KOM on a 3/4 mile stretch that'll have a gale force tail-wind all the way! ^_^

Living in Orkney, if I wait for fair to good weather I'd never get any cycling done, as it is I find bad weather riding an exhilarating experience.
