so I'm off on a 20 miler today with a few of the lads, it's just started to rain a little and the wind has moved up to gale force strength, my follow cyclists have made there excuses and cancelled leaving me with a decision to make..........do i go out and get smashed about by the wind and get soaked........or sit in the house all day watching coronation street omnibus. I understand that some weather isn't ideal but does it really matter that much. Never affected us playing football. Why do my mates suddenly have the fear.

After about 7 miles west against a westerly wind I turned around! Did 23 miles in total but with more turns!

Absolutely peeing it down at 6.30 this morning as i was on the way to work, cant beat putting ondamp lycra at the end of a shift .

I just got caught in it, high winds then sideways mega rain (technical term). It was ok up until the point I hit some wet leaves and now I'm sporting some bloody knees as a trophy of my rule 9 antics!

All good though!

We got out today 15 miles avg speed of 12 mph which isn't too bad considering how windy it was and my lad and my mate had heavier bikes.

Managed to get out, one of the lads turned up out of guilt.....20 miles, avg 11mph, he bonked I fell off. Rain and wind horrendous but hey......massive quads will be mine one day.

Did 15 miles this evening with my two lads; wind had dropped a little but still took a bit of a battering.

Didn't fall off however, despite my youngest lad weaving about in front of me with both hands above his head!

Worse tomorrow I'm told!

Been staying in a converted barn on the south edge of Bodmin moor this week and while my family snore have been riding off through the old Davidstow airfield with the mist coming off brown willy tor and every morning it's rained and I mean bad,but once your wet your wet keep moving,the wind has been behind me on the way out and against me on the way back,never the best of conditions but cyclists got to make the best of a bad situation,and this was my summer break ,and I still have no idea why I'm not in Valencia ,as I had been offered a stay in the hills ,in the heat.........
