I always carry them, wear them, get impatient, rip them off, get filthy hands then never have enough wipes to clean up

Absolutely right. Any convenient stick or other pointed object helps too.

Always wear them for mechanical's or punctures, maybe I am lucky but I do not have any of the problems others have mentioned, Maybe this is because I wear them often for my work.
