Tuesday - 72 miles circuitous watford to sawbridgeworth. Total time 6 hours 45minutes included approx 30 mins for stops.
Took as countrified a route as i could.
Between Potters bar and Broxbourne nice view down over north london and the big burning sony warehouse of the previous nights rioting in Enfield. Could also see the bullet shaped building in canary wharf.
Nasty 8% climb up low hill road Roydon that had me in the lowest possible gear.
Consciously tried to take it a bit easy on the way. Got to sawbridgeworth about 1 pm feeling ok.
Felt tired on the way back despite 1 litre of lucozade and a quiche.
Only got called a prat once by white transit man cos i delayed him by a milisecond.
Overall £10 saved relative to equivalent car journey (less £1 for quiche and £1 for lucozade)
I have a schwalbe marathon plus on the rear but a knobbly front - im wondering if putting a road tyre on the front improve my ave speed.
