Long term loafer
I have been commuting to and from work for a month or so now and have only got wet once (luckily) but know the drenchings are coming soon. So far I have been carrying a Canterbury shower proof jacket which fits grand. I want to get a proper cycling jacket but have tried on a couple of Altura XXL jackets which wont even close. Anyone got any advice for the fuller figure gentlemen out there? I have also worn my North Face XXL waterproof jacket but its not really the right thing.

I got an Altura in 3XL, it fits nicely. That is the 2009 version, which they have at £35 but only goes to XXL. Call them and they'll sell you a 2010 version in 3XL, although it's £6 more, it's slightly better material and it comes in the right size. ;)

Just ordered one of those at your recommendation there Norm, how quickly do they deliver, and do you remember what carrier they used? (Could be a bit of a wait if it's RM  )

Came in 2 days, if I remember rightly. I can't remember the carrier but it was a courier rather than using the RM or Parcel Farce.

They were very good with the whole thing and, when I went to their shop to change the 2XL for a 3XL (it was a great excuse for a ride on some lovely roads), the young lady who answers the phone turned out to be just as wonderful as she sounded on the phone. Which is important for me, obviously.
