I actually punctured last night (in a lovely spot with gorgeous views over the beautiful Ribble Valley) and used about half a cylinder reinflating my tyre. I reckon there's enough gas left to inflate a second tyre if I'm careful and the inflator doesn't seem to lose pressure over time, the trigger is protected by a lock. Shall carry a spare cylinder and GtiJ also carries one but I'd rather use the gas than waste time and energy crouched over a piddling little pump by the side of the road pumping madly like a demented onanist.

I've not had a puncture since I was a kid, seem to be really lucky that way. I do carry a CO2 inflator and a single cartridge just in case.

I cannot speak for your device, but mine will lose pressure over time once the canister has been pierced. I carried around a part used cartridge for over a year but when the time came it was empty. Luckily I had a couple more in the saddle bag. I always use a full cartridge or dispose of a part used cartridge now.

nice and neat way to do it proving you don't catch it with your legs.[/QUOTE]

Here's the one I use for my Road Morph:

For extra security I also use the Velcro strap that came with the Morph. Haven't had it fall off yet.

I have a frame-fit Zefal which is very secure under the top-tube utilising the stud on the rear of the head tube, but I replaced it with a Lezyne Micro Floor Drive HVG (because I like a long hose); it goes in a bag - rack-top or pannier. I have an even smaller (9") push-on which might go in the pocket or bag on very rare occasions.

Oh yeah - I have two bottles too .

I make the Doris drive behind me with a car full of spare bikes and wheels. If I puncture, she runs out and changes it while I mutter something into my jersey collar. If she's dropped behind for some reason, I just wait for a passing cyclist and take one of their wheels.
