Fill your Camelbak with lead free petrol and modify the mouth tube to accept one of these. When @waspyfecker hoves over the horizon, give him a quick squirt. Job done!

Glue a bumble bee to your helmet . Wasps are scared of bumble bees because they can kick their ass so the wasps wont go near you .

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
A wasp got stuck between my chin strap and side of my head today. Happily, it was an elastic chin strap on a baseball cap (windy here today), so I just stretched the strap and threw the hat back off my head, allowing the wasp to escape before it stung me. The chin strap hooked on my neck and so I avoided losing the cap. Not sure what I'd do if that happened with a helmet... lose the helmet and buy a new one after it fell onto the ground? Like @buggi says, this is rare - I think it's my first time in 30+ years riding and I think I've seen it happen to one other person.

never had a waspy helmet, but many years ago one of the little swine got stuck between my glasses arm and head, it tried to sting its way out and my temple was a right mess for a week or so after.

my brother was once (in his words) bitten by a wasp. he is adamant it bit him as it hurt but not as much as being stung.

Ironically I have a sheet of plastic mesh used for excluding queen bees from combs in a hive. I think I can repurpose it to cover the vents in my helmet.
