I have an Endura Air Defence jacket which is quite good for the winter but I find it gets very moist inside - when I take it off I can feel a layer of damp all over the inside. this is it http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=9311&catID=206

It is better when at lower temperatures but between about 7-11 degs I tend to wear a short sleeved base layer under it.

I am not particularly after a waterproof jacket, although the Air Defence is the sort you could manage with for a while in showers or light rian.

I am after something similar which I can wear with either short sleeve base layer, long sleeve base layer or both in really cold weather, and will work in a non sweaty way from about 12 degrees downwards. Perhaps if I used something different from 7-12 degrees I might avoid the sweat problem.

Price is not a particular issue as I am planning to get this as an Xmas prezzie!

That looks a bit warm for 7 to 11.

My windproof top comes out at about upto 3-4 degs. Other than that it's a base layer and a standard long sleave road top.

I still sweat, but it's more comfortable mixing the type of top.

People say spend big on something gore if you want waterproof and not too sweaty

or something very lightweight that's showerproof and breathes fairly well

personally I've got a Nightvision top for when the wether gets really cold, like freezing, otherwise layers as approprite and a gillet if it's raining, easy to get wet is easy to get dry

that and keep a good pace up

I'd like to get a windproof jersey - that way there's not the full shell of a windproof jacket but it's still good for down to freezing depending on the baselayers used. Windchill is my biggest problem, but I'm struggling to find something at a reasonable price that I like the look of.

I've got a Pro Bike Kit PBK Team Winter Jacket :-

http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=C9901

Waterproof and windproof, microfleece lined.

One of the best purchases I have made to date, as far as bike kit goes.

I use it for pretty much everything at this time of year. Breathability is excellent in my opinion. Chuffed to bits with it.

May not be to everyones tastes because of the logo's, but I like it.

Absolutely stonking value for money just now, with the current offer prices on PBK. ;)

Having been out a few times I have revised my needs. I agree the Endura I have is probably too warm over about 7-8 deg, and also I think it wicks better if I have a long sleeved base layer.

I have just bought a Lusso Breathe2 warm jersey, not windstopper, but looks quite warm - it is hi viz yellow with black side panels - like this one but the arms are also yellow. And the yellow is much more hi viz than it looks there http://www.lusso-clothing.co.uk/images/productpics/270396296.jpg

I also bought a fantastic lighweight hi viz gilet with mesh back from TriUK in Yeovil when I popped in. Can't find it in the UK but it is this http://www.loplabbet.se/system/search/product.asp?id=1364

Finally I ordered an Altura jersey which I think is similar to the Lusso one, so now I have all bases covered.....
