When scrolling through my screens on the wahoo head unit - on of the screens shows details of the last you tube video I was watching (on my phone) ???

Is there any point to this screen ? Does it do anything?

This is why Garmins are clearly better. My Garmin would too discreet to mention that I had been watching lady you tube videos.

I've never used any of the phone links - the absolute last thing I want cycling is to be notified that I'm getting phone calls or emails!

But I guess it's function is to out your true self to your cycling buddies :-)

Lol I meant last you tube video....seems a bizarre thing to have on a cycle computer.

It’ll be the audio control page. Usually used for controlling things like Spotify or similar but if your phone had a YouTube video in the background this is shown as an audio source. You can remove this page using the Wahoo app when linked to the unit.

Yeah finally worked this out. I'm getting a bit luddite in my old so I've disabled this feature.

Whats the easiest way to get a route from Garmin connect to a wahoo roam ?

i would imagine you need to download the fit file then upload it via whatever software wahoo uses

Can you export from Garmin as a gpx file? I use Cycle.travel, download gpx and import into the elemnt App.

Slightly irrelevant info: My Varia goes bonkers at one particular point (I use a Garmin head unit), must be something external interfering with it. So that says that there are places that spook Varias regardless of head unit. Doesn't explain why you experience it more with Wahoo though.

I’ve noticed it goes at
  1. Activated on demand traffic lights crossings
  2. Train station barriers
  3. Certain traffic light controlled junctions
My theory is that something in the Traffic signal and loop feeder cables that are used to trigger and detect vehicles interfere with it https://www.clevelandcable.com/electrical-cable-stock-range/traffic-signal-cable/
edit they are induction loops with electromagnetic fields https://www.automatesystems.co.uk/how-traffic-light-sensors-work/

If you can - I can't see how to do it ????
I use Garmin Connect with my Garmin watch. I'm not aware of any facility for mapping or routes in the app.

If there are routes in there you could try two things:

Open the route. In most mapping apps in this mode there should be an "export gpx" option and/or "send to device"

Right click on the route and look for the options above.

Once you've downloaded a gpx/gtx import that into the mapping software you have enabled to use with the Wahoo.

Can you not just link your Garmin and Wahoo accounts? I have Wahoo linked to Strava and RideWithGPS and if I create a route in either of those it just syncs automatically into my Wahoo account and when I turn the unit on they sync onto it and are there for use.

That’s what i do as well. I create routes in Strava and then you have to do a manual synch on the head unit (takes about 10 seconds) a tip is to have it set so the routes you’ve created as sorted alphabetically.
