Well, the 10 hour battery life has ruined it for me. I was considering buying one, but not if the battery life is that bad.

They have said the battery life can probably be extended by code optimizations in the future. They think there are some memory leaks that are consuming excessive power, but it's seen as a lower priority than getting the other features fixed. I think the 17h figure is based upon ideal functioning and 'may' be achievable if they get the code right. Good thing is at least they are responding well to bugs and user input and have a rapid release cycle (unlike Garmin).

Sounds plausible. You'd think the actual size/capacity of the battery would be similar to the 520, so it is surprising that the Elemnt should offer significantly lower run time - especially with a monochrome screen. I suppose Garmin have had years of experience in working out how to optimise power use while Wahoo are relative newcomers.

I'll probably look at the Elemnt when I decide it's time to upgrade from my 510, but I'm not in a hurry to do that at the moment.

Reading the latest comments on the Google group, it's getting really hard to not splash out and buy one of these. Bit gutted at the price, but given how rapidly it's improving, I guess I can't compain!
