Wow that was brutal. I would struggle to walk up that hill, let alone accelerate on a bike.
ps I'm adding Trek to the list.
Also, while I have the ear of the controller ITV4, I might gently suggest another commentator, as well as, not instead of, the guy knows his stuff etc but I'm afraid the nasal Aussie whine almost ruins the show for me.

Commentary team is a wee bit dull. I thought Aussies were supposed to be funny.
Where is P Ligget & Co ?

being an avid watcher of pro cycling the coverage of the vuelta on itv4 is poor

the studio chats ok but i imagine they have a budget which doesnt stretch to including british commentators

so opting for the the only option left of getting an english speaking aussie!!!

i will be sticking to eurosport!

Yes, I too have been disappointed, but for me it's the 'highlights' that are poor. Apart from the studio part, there is no coherency, chronology, or tension in what is clearly a cobbled together bit of edited live coverage from earlier in the day, in sharp contrast to the excellent ITV4 TdF highlights programme. It reminds me of Eurosport's dire highlights coverage of a few years back, with David Duffield doing a past tense commentary.

With Wiggins poised for a possible first major tour win for a Brit, and today possibly the most important and decisive stage of the Vuelta, ITV4 have chosen to do away with today's live coverage in order to show 7 hours of British Touring Cars championship.

As I said in another thread, ITV4 have been showing the whole of the BTCC for a few years now. Apart from the fact that it almost certainly draws a bigger audience than the Vuelta they are probably contracted to do so.

Too late now but it was on line; the tv coverage wasn't great for me personally but I suppose the petrol head audience is bigger, judging by the amount of cars when 5 cyclists from the local Dunfermline Cycling Club went by (including me) I guess so.
