Near Suffolk/Essex border on the edge of the Shotley peninsula - beautiful area imo (shame that Ipswich is nearest large town).

I have been to Diss three or four times just for Madgetts cycle shop - Mick, and I think it is his son, are lovely blokes. I just love looking around the shop, so many interesting bike bits ^_^

Thanks for the link, I will look out for one

The group is 600 with STI? (I thought 600 was all friction shifters)

Not very common but yes, there was a Sti variant of 600/ultegra

In the I was too slow to buy that 979
As a bobby prize of sorts I found this instead

787 with wider clearance for tyres and different seatstay design.
105 6sp all around (Anyone has a spare uniglide cassette?)
Needs some TLC and I think new hoods (rubber is sticky - is there a way to fix it?)

The ride is very comfy, even on 23mm

Futural :okay: @biggs682 has/had one and I would not be surprised if @woodbutcher has one as well
Yes l have a Futural 787 , the road version like yours . Mr Biggs had the cx version and very nice too.
I agree about the ride quality, which l can't say applies all my Vitus bikes, the Seven for example looks nice but is a harsh ride,

It turned out to be impossible to find exact model for 1050 brake hoods. Luckily, the model for 1055/blr400 fits almost perfectly

Now the bike is still waiting for a triple as 42x23 is ridiculous:smile: Transmission will also get at some point a seven speed freewheel, hopefully something bigger than 13-23

I have found a cheap 6503 crank and now I finally have a climbing gear
