Hello dear Forum
What is the wisdom on this bike?
Could it take modern 28mm tyres?
Would it make after some adjustments an "audaxy" machine or it is a bad idea?

I can buy one for 300€ in very good condition, is it a fair price?
Thanks^_^

I don't know about the price being fair, but from your photo the clearances look a bit tight for 28mm tyres.

That's a very short wheelbase with steep frame angles, you might get 28mm on the front but unlikely on the rear. Both my 2007 Trek SL and Schwinn Traveler take them but it's tight. Remember tyre standards on sizing vary from different manufacturers.

As for the price I'd say was quite good depending on the quipment.

I have a very similar ALAN. The limiting clearance is between the chainstays: mine is 30mm so far too 'tight' for 28s which measure up to spec. And no mudguard eyes so not really an 'act of war' (randonneuring).
May I suggest you eschew the 'wisdom' unwisely requested in the OP and just [Edit: ask the seller to] measure.

Here's mine with 25mm Gatorskins on, and as you can see it's quite tight.
Absolutely brilliant bikes - maybe a bit lively to be described as audaxy?

I would say that the price is fair , it looks like a 2nd generation 979 . By the way tight clearances are nothing new, check out this beauty designed by the master, Roger Roche !!
