One other question - are the folding tyres harder to get on/off the wheel rims?

It all depends on what wheels you have.
But they go on ok on my Easton's and Ultegra's.

I have used both tyres over many thousands of cycling miles.
Both tyres are really excellent imho, good puncture proof, grippy and long lasting.

If you are a weight weenie then get the Pro's, if not then get the normal ones.

I'll take your word on this Ian and will consider these on my next commute purchase. I usually buy Bontrager Racelite Hardcase:thumbsup:

The very first time I used folders it felt a little like I had to remind them what they were supposed to do, but once I persuaded them to go into the right shape they were no problem at all.

I run the pro's on my summer bike (used to use open corsa's but the price got silly) and have used the wire bead on various bikes, actually they're still on Mrs D's winter tri-cross. Both types are good value and all Vittoria tyres seem easy to fit, even on 'tight' rims compared to others I've used such as gator skins.

I don't use them on my commute, only leisure rides.
Use Use Durano Plus' for the commute.

That's me told then.^_^

In my experience the low end Vittorias are not that great, the more expensive ones are better which may be fairly obvious but a tub (Vittoria Rally) that inflates inside out with a raised tube joint is a waste of money.

Wired Rubinos work well for me. I have used them quite a bit on assorted bikes and have had 0 punctures in approx 5,000 miles which is one less than my much more expensive Conti 4 Seasons. I have 4 bikes, but wheels for a few more so cheap tyres are good.

The Rubino tire has been a great for me. Still got loads of life left on my current ones, but when it does eventually wear out I think I'll try either the Pro Slick or the folding version.
