Any good Vittoria tyre is worth a punt but that will need to offer a significant improvement on a Vittoria or their own Veloflex to be worth the money especially when you can buy a pair of Veloflex Corsas from Ribble for £52.

The article I read talked about puncture protection in terms of the graphene molecules 'springing back together' faster, thereby closing up any holes much quicker and more thoroughly than traditional rubber. So obv an advantage to tubeless but not sure if it adds much/any puncture protection if using tubes. Time will tell I guess...

I will let you know in 6 months time.:okay:
If i remember :laugh::laugh:

I know it's the wrong discipline,but I sport the Vittoria Jafaki MTB tyre with the Graphene compound.
Having used Vittoria/Geax tyres for a few years now,and thinking they were great,the new compound is streets ahead of anything I have used.
Grip and durability are there in spades,so I recommend any tyre with it.
I hope that is in some way useful to you :thumbsup:

Had these on for a couple of weeks now. They feel very grippy and on par with schwalbe zx tyres. I think they will wear well. Time will tell. They do feel nicer than the Continental four seasons i have been using. More responsive. :okay:

So what does a single atom thick layer of carbon add to this tyre, or is the "Graphene" name just a marketing ploy?

Well, it's an incredibly strong, light, elastic compound, so that certainly could be a huge improvement in tyres. Whether that is true in this case ... well, we'll see I guess.

I just love that the scientists got a nobel prize for applying sticky tape to graphite, to produce the single layer of carbon atoms.

We already add carbon (black) to tyres, which is why are they are black even though rubber is pale. It adds strength and dissipates heat.

Well I've just ordered a pair. They're not a bad price on Wiggle. Will be interesting to see how they compare to the Rubino's I have been running for many a year
