Hi everyone,

I was pointed to this thread (purely coincidental) earlier this week after posting in http://www.lfgss.com/thread102078.html#post3439227

Funnily enough, the Hardisty bike in this thread is mine. I had no idea mickeyt69 had posted a message. In fact, I don't even recall taking the bike in to a bike shop in Oct 2011...

I still have the bike. I stripped it down with the intention of converting it in to a fixie, but when I couldn't remove the seatpost, I lost faith and was going to sell it. Since posting on lfgss, I've been swayed in to keep it, and want to build it back up again, so @mickeyt69 if you are out there, you can have another stab at pulling this seatpost out.

If anyone knows mickeyt69, could you please give him a nudge?

I remember Hardisty Cycles - I think at one point they had two shops on Shields Road - one at the top where the Edinburgh coop is now and one further down where the cycle centre (?) is now.
Very impressed with your lounge in the photo - just the real necessities four casks of ale and a bike and a sun lounger should the sun ever make an appearance.

Here's a some interesting articles -

any decent lbs will cut the stuck seat post out , and should be able to do it without any frame damage , i had one done cost me £70 .

the lad that did it claimed it took him 6 hrs and about a dozen hacksaw blades and 5 cups of tea to do it

The bike that was in these this post was my dad's.
I (regrettably) stripped it down last year with the intention of restoring it. Unfortunately, I never got 'round to doing it so I'm now selling it to raise funds for a CX bike. If anyone's interested, it's on eBay.

[Moderator note: Sorry Lee, eBay links are only allowed in the Classifieds > Auction forum. Make some more posts and you'll be able to access it and create a separate thread there.]
