Happy to have stumbled upon this thread, lots of great Falcon info. Here is a picture of my Majorca, which I believe to be early 70s. The catalogs show the Majorca as being a 5-speed but maybe there was a 10-speed option? That or the rod-operated Simplex front derailleur was added after the fact. Not a high end bike by any means but I love the color

Also came across this facebook listing for a nice looking San Remo.

And do you now what the seatpost size is? 26.8mm or 27.2 possibly? The San Remo is a model 80

The rod front changer and the frame with the Carlton Flyer style lugs are a bit of a culture clash to me, the frame is a bit younger and into the 70's I think

That's a really nice Falcon. In good condition for its age. I am away in France at the moment but will check it out against my records when I get home next week. The rod operated front derailleur could be original, but he chainwheel may not be. It looks either early 70s or very late 60s to me. Do you have a frame number for it please? I have a modest database of Falcon frame numbers and I may be ablate help with a date and / or model.

I'll try to get the seat post size, but the serial number looks to be X 2 62 68

That's a lovely colour for a lovely bike.
I'm sure I've never seen one of those before.
Were they only for the USA market or other countries?

I would estimate it as 1974 or so with that frame number. The Majorca was one of their low to mid-range bikes which didn't have Reynolds 531 frame tubing at that time. I have not seen the Majorca name in that format on the stays before. It was normally used on the San Remo models.

Since this is THE thread on Falcon bikes, here's my recently restored 1979 Super Pro for the record. Original paint. Too small for me (21.25").

That's really nice and the paintwork is pretty good for its age. The SuperPro and the Professional both seem to have paint that is quite thin. Chrome on the forks loks pretty good too! Your brake levers are more recent I think than the original ones. Great work!

I also have an almost identical 1979 SuperPro but with not quite such good paint. My frame number is 25390 so yours should be in that region. I am building a database of Falcon frame numbers and would love to add yours to the ones I already have.

The frames on the Professional and the SuperPro are identical so the frame numbers interlink. In production they then would have been sprayed up in different colours and kitted out with slightly different components, the SuperPro being the higher quality kit out.

You have the frame number Bob - 25783. The bike came to me without the Campag levers but the late 80s Shimano ones are nice examples. What I don't much like is the shape of the bars..

Big bars were popular at the time, gave lots of hand positions and the theory was that on the drops the chest was opened helping breathing...... None of that aero nonsense lol.

Those drilled SR were sought after BITD, mated to the extra super light stem with titanium hardware.

The bike reminds me of the Black Diamond .

So, finally I have tracked down a green Falcon Professional to add to the Falcon collection! Late 1978 or early 1979 (stem marked Aug 78 and chainset April 1978. The start of a new project! This will take some time (the last one took eighteen months). I plan to get the frame cleaned, de-rusted and repainted. Most of the components are pretty readily recoverable.
