It's interesting that most interviews with VP I've read she mostly seems to talk about how little she enjoys the sport. And I don't blame her. I'd hate to be an olympic athlete - dedicating your entire life to training, spending all your time micromanaging your diet, training training training, pushing your body often beyond it's limits and doing yourself harm.

And for what? Well, if you are in the top few percent then a few brief moments of glory and perhaps enough earned from sponsorship, endorsements and appearances to retire, maybe switch it around and become a trainer yourself. And if you are in the rest? Nothing but a wrecked body and no career prospects.
