Obviously the medicine needs to be released fast enough to achieve the increase in blood pressure..
But if food is present it will slow the absorption of the medicine and the increase in pressure might not be achieved?
Sounds like a pressure cooker bubbling over type of situation, if the food effect wears off too quickly you could have someone's eye out if you're not careful.
