No issue with pre-existing here on the policy - I am sure Bupa will tell me what's what when I call for the authorisation code (if the GP suggests physio). It shouldn't be an issue. I am seeing him about the elbow on 21 May anyhow - hopefully the last time as see the surgeon a week later (fingers crossed for discharge)

Well, I have De Quervain's Tendinitis - inflamed tendon which runs from thumb through wrist... GP says rest, ice at least 2x a day, deep rub with ibuprofen gel, keep thumb moving. Don't give up cycling but try to modify how grip bars, keep the hand moving. Overuse injury, could be due to compensating for surgeried left elbow. Think about how do things, woud appear to have a propensity for tendon issues

Go back in 3 weeks or so if not better

Still struggling with this, physio had a go at my wrist last night and advised me to discuss with my elbow surgeon at today's appointment, which I did. He confirmed the diagnosis and I am now sporting a lovely beige splint (not especially convenient as this is my dominant hand but hey ho), I am to rest it, take full dose of anti-inflammatories and do a really painful exercise to stretch out the tendons  . He said to look at how I am holding onto the handlebars when riding, especially thumb position (he roadbikes too, so knows what he is talking about)

Will see how I go for a month...

Elbow is healing well though
