No idea why you think more expensive hubs, if cone & cup, will lock better somehow.
 
Synchros is just Scott's in house brand in the same way as Trek's Bontrager. It's just a brand slap on something bought from a factory in Asia. It's only as good or as bad as the manufacturer beneath the sticker. Scott bikes are super expensive generally. I would look for some hubs suitable for downhill maybe Hope Pro 4 hubs.

Yes they have branded formula hub and Alex rims so not the best.
I'm going for a Chris king hub.
I will also use DB spokes rather than plain gague....🙄

The reason I suggested Hope was easy to service and very easy and fast access to spares. I've heard the Chris King spares situation can be more difficult but maybe that has changed.
