well done, indeed cycling pretty much gives you a reason to be a smug b***ard! much better to be a smug b***ard with an excuse/ a reason than a meaningless smug b***ard!
so sorry to hear about the family tragedy and all the troubles you have been having recently, sometimes life really is an arse!

and as for hills, i love them! apart from when you have nothing but constant very long, very steep up hills 3/4 of the way through your first 100 miler on a heavy steel flat bar hybrid lump of shoot apart from that i just attack them full on like a mad man and end up at the top before i know it!

I can have the worst day at work with an awful headache, 15 minutes out and I forget completely. This means I'm home in a good mood for quality time with the missus.
