Vangelis dies aged 79

The legendary electronic music composer has died. He'll of course be remembered for 'Chariots of fire' but he also wrote the scores for Blade Runner and Missing.
He collaborated with Jon the lead singer with Yes on a number of different projects.
A sad loss to the world of music.

Listening to The Friends of Mr Cairo now. I'd almost forgotten what a great album it is - especially the rather bonkers title track!

I have quite a bit of his stuff. I prefer the non-soundtrack stuff and my very fave LP is probably 666 by Aphrodite's Child.

He's obviously well known for the soundtrack stuff but he's done some diverse stuff, especially early in his career.
