Well it's getting a charge up and when I do use it I go about 30 minutes into town. Although last use it was two journeys of 2 hours with a few shorter journeys in between.

I'm thinking of charging to green on the mains charger then use a battery maintainer with solar panel. Anyone got one and recommend a good one? This is only to get it to the garage Friday when I hope and expect it to be sorted.

This van is about 2 years into a new alternator as it is. They're not cheap on the van, most cars I've had it's sub £300 the van is well over £300.

The solar ones are OK, but you mains one is better for keeping the battery healthy especially if you have one that has a maintenance function.

Unless the fault is so obvious from initial observations, don't expect a quick resolution to the battery drain issue. A lot of diagnosis time is often needed.

Basic information is required, is the vehicle charging itself, what is the battery condition, what is the 'asleep' battery drain and what aftermarket items are fitted.

A digital multimeter would tell you the battery voltage and asleep current drain.

Never discount a duff battery. The number of returns we had when I worked at a motor factors might surprise you. Even decent brands like Bosch would come back under warranty, some quite quickly.

Check the dimensions that it fits across the windscreen.
Some Anderson connectors and 4 or 6 mm cables and you're set.

Parked, leave in the windscreen. Make sure it fits
On a site, aim at the sun.
Folds up nice and flat. Boosts any other fixed panels
