Nice but valve caps for presita valves show no purpose one the tube is in the tyre.

except for keeping crap off the thread - especially in the winter when salt can render a presta valve 'unopenable'.

I have never had that in all my many years of riding, and I never use dust caps. Lack of maintenance in winter once rendered a chain ruined, I've collected so much muck and crap in my mudguards that you'd think I'd been riding a cross race but I've never had a valve seize up.

I'm a fan of anodised bits, my bikes have anodised schrader caps and cable ends. One also had an anodised lockring which is the most pointless bit of bling ever, 'cos it's not exactly visible!

For no other reason than getting lazy with taking the caps on and off each week when I pump up the tyres, I leave them off and have never had a problem.

Dustcaps: Anything else is perverse, scruffy and positively tawdry, freaks.

I could do with a set like that myself for two reasons, one, I get sick of screwing plastic ones on too far and splitting them or the valve pokes out the end and secondly, it would make it easier for me to spot my valves with my poor close up eyesight. Usually I put a small bit of hi viz tape on a spoke next to the valve to make it easier to spot, but it drops off eventually.

Beware of using any valve cap made of alu alloy - last time when I saw a set, I had to cut them to release them from the valves after road salt (probably assisted by bi-metal galvanic cell effect) oxidised/seized them solid.

They are usually plastic for a good reason.
