Another enthusiastic vote for Kool Stops. The salmon ones are officially for wet weather, as Buddha notes, but they are in fact good for all weather (or at least all Welsh weather), and you can also get combo salmon/black ones for all conditions. They last ages, don't knacker your rims as badly as any others I've tried, and most importantly have amazing stopping power. Not cheap tho - if anyone can beat dotbike.com's price, I would love to know...

I bought 4 pairs from fleabay for around 18 quid - seller goes under bert4289. They sell it as two pairs - but additional items cost 2 USD additional posting so it makes sense to get four pairs (or more even!).

I bought some Fibrax pads Last weekend and fitted them to the rear have done my three 21 mile commutes in real torrential rain this week and am impressed good stopping power also no where near as much sludge build up.

Standard Avid pads are very good if you can find them
