Neither and 4x4 nor a coupe but some sort of Frankenstein cross between the 2!

I may have just accidentally ordered an MG ZS EV long range with Trophy trim on a lease 🤦‍♂️ It's a very cheap deal for civil servants/ex civil servants, and as we won't own it I won't care if the paint falls off.

Mrs D will likely use it most of the time as now she's using her wheelchair more were struggling with the - otherwise superb - Mini Electric. The mini will revert to me.

I was looking for a decent lease deal on something like that

just couldn't justify the monthly cost over buying an older petrol car with better mpg than my old one

never found one for ex-teachers - but teachers are sort of civil servants so did I miss something??

A scheme through NARPO for ex plod, which me and Mrs D both are. I know there is something similar for healthcare types. Its a fair bit cheaper than even Motability.

I'm not a fan of leasing, but the numbers are so low I was suckered in.

Loads at our place doing the salary sacrifice deal, but it's not cheap. It's an all inclusive deal, insurance, tyres etc but it's a good £400 plus out of your pocket each month, and add in the bigger impact of £600 plus coming off your gross pay for pension purposes, it's not worth it.

Plenty haven't considered the impact on pension of the salary sacrifice.

I assume your deal is more traditional lease, for which there can be very good deals.

Well, three months in and all is kushty. A few very minor interior squeaks on the move, but so far there's no cause for complaint.

I was actually saying to a friend yesterday (who has just bought an MGB convertible) that I did get hairdresser comments when I owned my MG TF but have never had the like with the Jimny. He on the other hand has never heard that convertible drivers can be subject to such vile and unwarranted abuse for their desire to take off their top in public at any given opportunity.

Four months and one day old and our MG ZS EV Trophy Long Range is broken.

It won't take a charge, and the RAC cant fix it. Luckily it has enough electrons left in the tank to take it to the dealer on Monday and the lease firm will have a hire car waiting for me.

It's very nice to drive, super comfy, very well fitted, but at 3 months o,d rattles like Jimmy Saviles jewelry and squeaks like a mouse on acid and this breakdown has done nothing at all to instill confidence.

I have no qualms leasing it as these issues are an SEP but I wouldn't spend my own hard earned on one yet.

I'm afraid that even the dealer could well be out of their depth on this one, never mind the RAC, it may well involve a battery specialist to get to the bottom of it

RAC man had no technical data available as MG do t release it (he showed me, all greyed out on his tab2ket) but he put in a phone call to technical in case they'd come adross it before. Best guess they came up with was a similar issue on a different MG that was fixed by a software update, but who really knows? If it drags on and im without the exact model and spec of car that im paying for they'll have to give me another.

The beauty of not owning it is that I'm finding it hard to give a sheet!
