I've been watching the forecast all week and am going to give this one a miss. It's a long way for grey cloud and a 25mph headwind! It will be against you on the last long homeward stretch from Lairg to Ullapool - not what you want with 100miles in the legs...

I was christened in Ullapool many years ago and I still feel drawn northwards.

Don't tell the locals though 'cos I'm English !

Well that can only be described as an epic!

Stunning route, well organised. Lovely weather, a bit on the windy side though.

Managed to finish and wasn't quite last, so quite pleased with that. The last 18 miles into the wind from Ledmore Junction to Ullapool was brutal, started to lose my sense of humour a bit at that point. It's not much fun when you have to pedal downhill.

As the pain begins to subside in my legs, I'm even thinking about entering next year.

My friend did the shorter route and he really enjoyed that as well.
