What's your point?
Do you fancy popping round for a BBQ when this is all over? You have to admit your posts on things mechanical have the Homer Simpson vibe about them. 😂
I don’t know what that means. It's a shame that you have to pre-program your site cookies to ignore a thread.
Unless I've missed something, you've not updated us with the result...The Araldite didn't harden up properly (probably not enough hardener in the mix). I've re-applied with a greater hardener to adhesive ratio.
I disconnected the front mech cable and tried turning the screw out and managed about a quarter of a turn before the glue gave up. I could probably extract the screw completely if I repeated the exercise another 30 times.Unless I've missed something, you've not updated us with the result...
I am happy to chip in on the crowdsourcing to make this thread go away. I find myself drawn in far too often for closure. Are you at a stage where you bite the bullet and just buy a replacement from mech.
Think we've established that's not an option as once @Lovacott has set his way ahead, no amount of advice deflects him from it. And also, this b*****y screw is just adjustment froth on a mech made more complicated for the marketing hell of it: the FD will function perfectly with its little bonus allen key head and glue addition. There is a weight penalty though. Are you at a stage where you bite the bullet and just buy a replacement front mech?
I’ve had to have a half hour zoom with my therapist just to get my sleep pattern back on track. OP will be getting an invoice in due courseI am happy to chip in on the crowdsourcing to make this thread go away. I find myself drawn in far too often for closure.
Seeing as how it's pretty easy to simply tension the cable by hand and get it right, I can't see the point in trashing a brand new mech? Are you at a stage where you bite the bullet and just buy a replacement from mech.
