Sounds like the World Cup except perhaps the added element of the Grand Tours. Not enough detail to comment on how it would work though.

Looks like the UCI are holding out the Olive Branch. We need some stability as a split would be disastrous for the sport of Cycling, this could be just what the doctor ordered.

I'm somewhat concerned about the lack of ASO input to the announcement, or apparent comment on it.
A case of the UCI attempting to influence discussions that are still going on?

If I've read this correctly the owner of ASO is very much involved in the discussions.

"Following the announcement that the UCI and EPA (Editions Philippe Amaury, the owner of ASO and Société du Tour de France) had had discussions about the future of world cycling and that the governing body would introduce a new structure to try to solve ongoing political divisions in the sport"

I guess Rudehomme would need to listen to what EPA has to say if he wants to keep his job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
