Try switching brands I favour Mitchellin krylion Carbons or their successor (Pro 4 Endurance) at the moment, they (particularly the Krylion) are cheaper and harder wearing and on a par performance wise grip/rolling with the 4 seasons and not far behind the GP4000s on the grip/rolling front and far ahead on the wear front. PS you'll probably find them cheaper again on another site: crc, pbk, ribble, ebay etc.
these ones ? how much life do you get out of them before they start to wear and puncture ? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/michelin-pro4-endurance-folding-road-tyre/

Thats them; they reckon the average rider gets 5000km; IIRC I got 5500miles p'ture free out of the predecessor (the Carbon) on the rear, then got a couple, wearwise they still looked fine and I've had no p'tures on the replacement a (Pro4 Endurance). The Pro4 is Mitchelin's replacement for the Carbons; almost identical but is supposed to be that wee bit better, rolling, p'ture resistance, grip, etc. I've had none touchwood on the front, or the Carbon which was on the front and is now on the back.

I had Duranos all round (bought in Feb), nice tyres, but the rear one was wrecked (sliced to ribbons, not worn out) inside 3 months. Bought a Durano + London to replace it and it has been all good. I've ridden some fairly long rides on it and the pair roll nicely enough when they need to.

For my new bike I've been recommended Conti GP 4000s, but I won't have panniers etc. on that bike, and probably won't ride it much in the rain/snow
