Tyres

I'm looking at getting some new tyres for my Cube Cross Race. I've been looking at schwalbe durano plus or sammy slicks but am torn between the two. I want a tyre that is puncture resistant and has a low rolling resistance.

The bike is used mainly for on road commuting but sometimes on canal towpath. It's also going to be used for a triathlon and a 100 mile ride to aberdovey.

Any opinions on which tyre would be most suitable?

Thanks

I recently installed a pair of Specialized Armadillo All-Condition tyres, 25mm. I've been happy with the rolling resistance so far, and judging by their feel, they're quite tough (including the sidewalls). Here's a link to their site: http://www.specialized.com/us/en/ft...all-season-road-tires/all-condition-armadillo

I use Durano Plus. Absolutely love them. Noticed the front wheel glinting in the sun last week and pulled out two large pieces of glass that would definitely been a catastrophic puncture with normal tyres. I still go fast as well

I recently got some durano plus London edition, I'm pleased with them so far, only been using them a couple of weeks though, they roll well, and seem to have decent puncture protection. They gripped fine in the wet yesterday.

I've got Durano Plus on one bike and they are a good tyre. But I do prefer the Conti 4 Seasons on the other bike. Both tyres get good reviews, so I'd look at what kind of deal I could get.

Talking tyres i have a dilemma i had pair of gp 4000s for last summer cover 3000miles on them fine thou the last 500 were riddled with atmospheric ruptures were quite cut up after that and in nov time i got a set of gp 4 seasons ( still currently on the bike)which have done over the 2000mile mark ( 2400miles with few cuts but one in each that i consider mid/major cut ) I have the London ride 100 in august and would like a fast new tires for it dilemma is wiggle have a set of gp4000s and 5 tubes for £65 or set of 4 seasons and 2 tubes for £72 should i run the 4season into the ground but buy a another set of 4 season that i can use for the ride 100 and run the all year round?

Try switching brands I favour Mitchellin krylion Carbons or their successor (Pro 4 Endurance) at the moment, they (particularly the Krylion) are cheaper and harder wearing and on a par performance wise grip/rolling with the 4 seasons and not far behind the GP4000s on the grip/rolling front and far ahead on the wear front. PS you'll probably find them cheaper again on another site: crc, pbk, ribble, ebay etc.
