We just got a new bike and had the lbs upgrade the tyres to Marathon+
All this talk about getting the tyres back on is making me nervous. Just in case the worst happens, what tyre levers are recomended for M+ tyres?

Just normal plastic levers worked for me. There is a knack to it though. It might be worth sitting down one evening and taking them off and on to practise.

Another vote against M+. If you do get a puncture they are so difficult to get on or off you might as well bin the whole wheel and get a new one, it'd be less hassle. They also ride really, really poorly in my opinion.

The marathon bog standard are all right though.

Bin the wheel, what nonsense. I have not noticed any difference between the M+ and conti sports contacts and done over 3000 miles on them and they handle really well. I also went through a spell of broken spokes on a wheel and had to have the tyre off every couple of weeks and it was no problem getting the tyre on and off

There seems to be a wide variety of views on how easy Marathin plus type tyres are to get on and off............
I'm gonna guess that if you're generally strong, you're going to be able to do it easily, but if you're a bit weedy (including myself in this category) then you may struggle...anyway I'll go and have a look at some tyres tomorrow and decide. Thanks for all the suggestions!!
