most important for most will be puncture protection
Weight and puncture protection - Gatorskin folding 700x23, 230 gm, GP4000S 700x23, 205gm. I am willing to accept the extra 50gm for a bit more security in the winter (figures from Continental).

Puncture protection more important than weight etc. Lots of lanes bordered with Hawthorns here.
You could always use Green tyres.(!) I think you have got to balance the two - protection v weight. That's why I am using Gatorskins for the winter.

Ultremo's are amazing. They cut a bit easy, but nothing a bit of superglue doesn't fix. What amazes me is the amount of pin sharp gravel I pick out of them that never actually reaches the tube. It's miraculous.
