Tyre wrecked after 1000 miles..

..worth taking back to the lbs or just accepting it?
Specialized Armadillo Elite 700x32 that came as standard on my Tricros,
Same tyre but 2 different splits

Take it back and you should get a replacement free of charge as specialized would want that returned to them to see why it failed. LBS should also fit the new one and charge specialized for it.
I'd email specialized too and explain to them your situation to be sure.

Take it back m8, I have them tyres also and have proved bombproof.....just bad luck?

Could be a defective tyre or user error. Are you sure your brake block isn't contacting the tyre? This can happen as brake blocks wear even if they are set-up ok to begin with.

You must be tyred of stuff going wrong

That is not an "honest" split, the splits are due to delamination i.e. the layers weren't securely bonded together during manufacture. I think you have a good case for complaint.

They will probably tell you that they are a consumable item, in which case you tell them that they are a consumable shop and can be replaced also.
