Gryphon is described as a HYBRID....so I'd have thought it "should" accept 28c or even wider tyres.
But looking at the pics - I'm not sure there will be clearance.
You can only try it and see, if the wheels don't turn, put the old 23c back on. Sell the M+ in classifieds, or on fleabay.

Try it. The worst that can happen is your wheels won't go round! I'd be amazed if they don't fit - 28 isn't really wide.
