Tyre pressure

Hi, might be a daft question but how can i accurately check the pressure on my road bike? i have a pit pump with the gauge back at home but even that seems to fluctuate.

I also have a problem with the actual pump getting stuck on the valve, last night when checking the pressure, i had to pull it that hard it popped the tyre

Any help or tips would be gratefully received, thanks

a tyre pressure gauge, these a more accurate than the ones fitted to track or hand pumps.

wait a minute and I will see if I can find a photo of one ..... I assume were are talking presta valves for a road bike???

there are many models, including digital ones, but below is a picture of one like mine.
