I know from experience (not mine but a close friend) that depression does some strange things to your mind. This smacks of the same self destructive path my friend took. Despite all logic and normal self preservation you just do whatever you think you need to do and there is not much you can do to stop yourself. It’s a sad sad end to a very good carrier. Just a shame about the bad press cycling will get (again) from this
 
I can honestly say i feel sorry for him, ok he took the drugs but it was to help him try to get over depression wasn't it. Did he know his days were up? He is still a normal human being not superman. How many people here have been through or have depression, Do you know how it feels? Do you sink that low that you think no one is with you and everyone is against you?

Yeah, I feel sorry for him too. Sorry that he wasted 2 years, all his money and other peoples too, trying to defend the indefensible with a half-baked chimera storyline while stroking old Tugboat after having cheated in a bike race by taking drugs. Che sera.
