I dont usually get irrationally annoyed by people presenting TV programmes but while channel hopping recently I've alighted on something called the Gadget Show... theres a tall gormless character, a little guy in his 40's who acts like he's about 16 and a reasonably sensible woman who gives the appearance of pretending to think they are normal. I really hope its just me who is bemused by this ... I'll even go so far as to say that I'm cringingly embarrassed by it -- its like watching Harry Worth if anyone out there remembers him. These two loons are reviewing road bikes and racing them it seems, suspend disbelief for a moment and see if you agree.

BTW Just to get this other isue of my chest Among the cutpurses, ragamuffins and guttersnipes of Crosby "the word which shall not be mentioned" is used as follows

I may well live in a different social strata to some but general usage is also pretty much what youngun says ie what fool/tit etc. The Ango Saxon roots are seldom considered, As it's gone without further posts I'll now shut up about it - however those blokes on the Gadget Show are without doubt "silly men"

My kids watch it so I sometimes sit through it.

I think they are trying to be a bit of a Top Gear for electrical goods.
It all comes over as a bit geeky and they really do not pull off the fun element very well.
She is OK (which translates to I would give her one). Blokes are annoying. Problem the producers have is that you dont want a know-all presenter on a show like that so they put two blokes acting like idiots but getting the things to work so you think you can do the same.

I cannot get interested in gadgets for their own sake. I really only care about the end result. They call a laptop "sexy" on there! I really dont want anything unless it does something better than I do it now. About 95% of the stuff on there is pointless junk.

My husband rather likes the lady (Suzi Perry), in fact she's taken over from Nigella Lawson as top TV totty.

The chaps aren't eye candy to ladies though
