Do you ever think somebody is trying to tell you something?
Having a blat on the turbo tonight with the mtb firmly attached and I could smell burning rubber, didn't really think anything of it for a few minutes until I thought I better check it out..........my road bikes front wheel was just touching the rear wheel of the mtb in my rather over crowded garage, bollox! I've now put a nice scar in the shoulder of my front tyre! At least it's only a zaffiro!
Sling more abuse this way. (Big face palm)

Seriously, do you think that's ok to ride, those are the wires you can see.

So I borrowed a mates turbo and have used it a couple of times. The rear attachment "cups" didn't seem to fit one side of the bikes spindle with the quick release in the way. I just put a rag between it and the "cup" so that it held without scratching the bike.
On the third run you can guess what happened, "clipped in" the bike came off the turbo on the quick release side of the rear spindle skewing me over to the left and into/onto lots of other tat in my garage, I wasn't wearing a helmet.
So is this a clipless faux pas or a turbo faux pas or both? And it goes to prove you can crash in your own garage without actually going anywhere if you're stupid.
Luckily the only damage was to my pride and a few scratches on the quick release that I was trying to prevent in the first place.
Hurl abuse in this direction.
It's a helmet faux pas, definitely a helmet faux pas, cyclists on turbo's not wearing a lid, lead to world famine, and wars, probably.

It came with the little alloy cups fitted with a little semi circular cut out not big enough to fit the QR in, so I bodged it instead of asking for the correct fittings which I'm guessing my mate still has?

The vast majority of turbos are like that, and require a traditional qr skewer with enclosed cam (and bulbous ends) like the first photo below. I suspect yours is an exposed cam design (second photo below) which are common nowadays. Sheldon provided a good comparison of the two designs here.

This my shimano qr, more of a square end, there's no room for the lever on the turbo cup.
